How I output a project once I have finished it is something that I am learning while trying to slowly build an online presence for myself. Since the beginning of the second year, I have created a new Instagram account which I use for my photography and projects. It is something that is slowly growing and hopefully will be a useful platform for growing my audience. I have a website that I have spent quite a bit of time developing. I use this to showcase my projects once I have finished and is much more of a professional portfolio compared to my Instagram. I also have a Facebook page which I use a little bit to draw people to updates on my website.
When I look on the analytics of my website, the days that I post an update on my website on Facebook and Instagram I see quite a rise in the number of viewers that go to my website which I am happy with. I don’t have much of an audience at all, however, I thought that this project and second year would be a good time to experiment with making books and outputting my project in the most professional way I could. I am hoping that the things that I am learning through this will help me learn the steps that I need to develop over the second half of this year and going into my 3rd year of uni. I know that building an audience is something that is the most important and something that I want to put more energy in over my time at uni.
I only released this project last night on my website and Instagram so I can not comment much on how it is all going. Over the next few weeks, I plan on posting and promoting this body of work a bit more and hope that I manage to sell a couple of books. I won’t be disappointed if this fails as it is going to be a good lesson on what I need to do in the future to improve.
