A self reflection on the areas that I want to improve on for this module.
After having feedback on my 201 project, I realise that there are a few things that I need to work on with the academic progress of my practice.
Going forward, I realise that I need to gather more credible sources of research to gain a better, deeper and more evaluative approach to looking at theory, ideologies, philosophies and artist work. I feel like this let me down in my previous project as perhaps I only touched the surfaces of the topics that I was looking into and I now know how I am going to develop this.
Deepening my thinking and self-evaluation after I have made work is also something that I feel I need to develop further. This will enhance the content that sits around the work that I am making and hopefully answer more of the “whys” while I am developing my body of work.
Wider reading and supplementary analysis will enhance my academic writing and convey my thinking in a well thought and structured manner.
Developing my visual work is a constant natural progression, one that is not too forced and comes naturally to me. I will be pushing myself in all the ways that I can in order to take and make better photographs that reflect the narrative of my research and answer the questions that I am asking.
